Uncle John's Band

This is the first posting to this site. Brian McGuirk inspired me to try this. Once we figure this thing out, there will be more.

Uncle John that's fantastic. You're the one guy that should absolutely have a weblog.

Any explanation for the title? I mean, my first thought when I saw the link to the site was: "Uncle John, come on. The McGuirks can do many things quite well, but singing is not usually one of them." My sister excepted, of course. So what's the deal with that?

I can't wait to see this thing evolve. You should check out this article on writing "The Living Web." It should be required reading for any interested in weblogging.

The title comes from a Grateful Dead song of that name. "Come, hear, Uncle John's Band/by the river side/we've got some things to talk about/here beside the rising tide."

Andy, please correct me if those lyrics are wrong.
